Town Clerk Position - St. Anne's on the Sea Town Council
Position: Town Clerk (Permanent)
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: £45,718 per annum (SCP36)
Are you ready to play a vital role in shaping the future of St. Anne's on the Sea? We're seeking a dynamic professional to serve as Town Clerk, the pivotal leadership position within our Council.
About the Role
As Town Clerk, you'll be the driving force behind the Council's daily operations, serving as both Proper Officer and working alongside our Responsible Finance Officer. You'll manage our governance, finances, and community initiatives while providing strategic guidance to elected members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Council operations and administrative functions
- Oversee financial management, including budgets, reports, and audits
- Coordinate Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minutes
- Manage and develop Council staff
- Spearhead community engagement initiatives
- Direct town events and celebrations
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Drive project management and service improvements
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- Experience in local government or related field
- Strong leadership and financial management capabilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The Certificate in Local Council Administration (or willingness to obtain it)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
