PARISH CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCE OFFICER: CATON-WITH-LITTLEDALE

Caton-with-Littledale is a large parish on the edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB and within Lancaster District.  It has an active parish council with up to 12 councillors. 

The Parish Council is looking for an experienced Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.  The person appointed will be a good communicator and organiser, computer literate and comfortable using Word and Excel. The ideal candidate will hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification (CiLCA), or be working towards it.  Candidates willing to start working towards this qualification upon accepting the post are also welcome. Knowledge of the local area would be an advantage.

The post is 14 hours per week, mainly working from home.  The Parish Clerk attends Parish Council meetings, which are held monthly (except for August) on the second Tuesday of each month, commencing at 7.00pm at the Victoria Institute in Caton. The Parish Clerk attends other meetings as required. Hours of work will be flexible and subject to changing workload and the parish council meetings’ schedule.

 The post is currently on Scale Point 7 of the NALC scales (£12.63 per hour); a qualified clerk would be paid at a higher level.
