Vacancy for Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

Woodplumpton Parish Council is an active Council that seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to take on the post of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).

The post is part time for an average of 20 hours per week. Working mainly from home, the hours of work are flexible except for attendance at meetings.

Salary will be based on the National Association of Local Councils pay scale and has been banded at the lower end of Profile 2 (LC2 below the substantive range) The exact point will be dependent upon qualifications and experience with the average being £15 an hour.

Candidates must be IT literate with their own computer equipment. They must be able to store Council equipment and files securely at a home address and be available to attend Council meetings which are usually held on the third Monday of each month at 7:00pm. Attendance at other meetings may be required as necessary.

Duties will include acting as advisor to the council, minute taking, compilation of correspondence, filing and accounts in addition to being the RFO to the council, writing a quarterly Newsletter, administering the Parish Council Website and being the first contact for residents and external agencies.

Relevant experience will be an advantage and candidates will be expected to hold the CiLCA qualification and maintain the status of being a Qualified Clerk.

Candidates must be capable of working with councillors and the public, sometimes in challenging situations, and be able to work with a wide range of outside bodies. This is a role for someone who can both listen well and demonstrate self-confidence in handling difficult situations. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential for this role.
