Location: Home based with attendance at meetings in different locations
Lathom is an historic parish in rural West Lancashire, with approximately 1,000 residents. The Parish Council has been looking after the interests of local people since 1983.
We are looking to recruit an exceptional clerk to ensure our parish council is well managed, meeting its legal obligations and providing the best possible service to our residents and community.
The role includes organising the meetings of the council, preparing agendas, promoting meetings, taking minutes and co-ordinating follow-up actions. Our clerk also looks after the finances of the parish council, including ensuring effective audit, risk and governance arrangements are followed.
We are looking for someone with the ability to ensure the effective administration and governance of the council and the enthusiasm to help us drive forward the running of the council and the support for our local community.
Effective liaison with councillors, other organisations, residents and groups is a key part of the role in implementing the decisions and plans of the parish council.
A high level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills are required together with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Applicants need to be willing to undertake training if needed, support will be provided.
