CLOSED Locum Clerk for Laneshawbridge Parish Council

LOCUM CLERK AND RFO VACANCY

Laneshaw Bridge Parish Council have found themselves unexpectedly without a Clerk, and need some immediate cover, for 2-3 months.

We are looking for an experienced Clerk who can step in on a temporary basis.

The role will be for approximately 10 hours per week, and pay will be subject to discussion with those interested, though will be commensurate with the immediate need we have.

Part of the role will also include assisting with the recruitment, and handover, to a permanent Clerk.

Responsibilities

1.     Attendance at Full Council and Working Group meetings which are held on the first Monday of each month. To prepare Agendas and Minutes for these meetings, carry out actions from these meetings and ensure they are advertised correctly.

2.     To assist the Events Working Group Chairman in co-ordinating Christmas events in the village.

3.     To ensure that legal, statutory, and other provisions governing or affecting the running of the Council are observed.

4.     To ensure the Council’s obligations to insure are being properly met.

5.     To ensure the Council’s obligations for employee’s Tax, PAYE, NI and all insurances are properly met.

6.     To prepare annual budgets for the Council to discuss and resolve prior to submission to Pendle Borough Council, and to assist in the setting of the Precept.

7.     To keep accurate accounting records and prepare accounts including for yearend audit.

8.     To complete VAT returns and submit

9.     To manage all correspondence on behalf of the Council.

10.   Manage the Council’s website.

11.   To effect a handover of Council property from the current Clerk, then to lead the process for recruiting a permanent Clerk, and effect a handover to them.

12.   To conduct the annual review of Council policies.

13.   Co-ordination of The Brigger, the village newsletter
