Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer
The Parish Council requires a part-time Clerk, to assist councillors in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, and in working to achieve maintenance and improvement of facilities that matter to residents. As this website illustrates, the Council’s work is varied and interesting, involving liaison with residents, County and City Councils and a range of other agencies.
There are seven councillors, and the Council meets six times a year on the third Tuesday in the month.
The Clerk prepares the agenda and minutes for the meetings, and also acts as the Responsible Financial Officer for the administration of the Council’s financial affairs. The appointee will need good IT, organisational and communication skills. Job specific training is desirable and encouraged, at the Council’s expense, and experienced councillors will also be able to provide initial support.
The post is part-time and requires approximately 3 hours per week. The remuneration level will be in the order of £10.50 to £11.50 per hour.
