FOULRIDGE PARISH COUNCIL

CLERK TO THE COUNCIL AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER

(PART-TIME – 8.5 HOURS PER WEEK)

Foulridge Parish Council has played an integral part in the life of the village for more than a hundred years. The first Parish Council meeting was held on 4th December 1894 when 120 villagers met to elect a Parish Council. The nine Parish Councillors, who are elected every 4 years, all give their time on a voluntary basis and work hard to ensure that the village continues to be a pleasant place to live, work and visit.

The Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.  The role is part-time, to be worked flexibly, from home, over an average of 8.5 hours per week (if necessary, more hours may be mutually agreed in the future). The successful applicant will be computer literate with excellent financial, administration and communication skills.

The Clerk has responsibility for all the Parish Council’s functions and will be expected to advise and support the Councillors to meet the legal requirements required of a Parish Councillor as well as in dealing with issues raised by members of the local community.

The Clerk will be required to attend and minute the Parish Council meetings, held on the first Monday of the month, and any additional meetings held during the year.  As the Responsible Finance Office, the Clerk will also be responsible for keeping detailed and accurate financial records, as well as administering the monthly payroll.

The successful applicant should be prepared to undergo further training as and when required.

Closing date for applications is 11th July 2022
