Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer
Part Time - 25 Hours a week.
Scale SO1( SCP 25)NJC
Salary range: 37 hours £29,577 per annum (pro rata) for qualified applicants*. (pay award pending)
The Town Council is seeking to appoint a first class administrator with good all round communication skills. The successful applicant will be forward thinking and enthusiastic. Hours of work to be negotiated and agreed with the successful applicant subject to necessary workloads and the schedule of Council meetings.
The Clerk has responsibility for organising the Council’s functions and will be expected to advise and guide the Council.
Applicants should preferably have a local government background, although applicants from other sectors are welcome to apply. Candidates without the Certificate in Local Administration will be expected to gain that qualification within a reasonable time at the Council’s expense. Sound administration and financial skills are essential due to the statutory nature of the post.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 23:59 on Friday 28th January 2022. Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited for interview shortly after the closing date. Interviews are scheduled to be held from 18:00 onwards on Friday 4th February 2022.

*Scale 5 (SCP 12) NJC (pro rata) for non qualified applicants, progressing to Scale 6 (SCP 18) NJC (pro rata) after a successful probationary 12 month period until the successful appointee is qualified.
