Vacancy for the Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Wiswell is a small village near Clitheroe, Lancashire, with its own Parish Council. The centre of the village is a Conservation Area.

The post of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer is vacant and the Council wishes to appoint an experienced administrator to support and guide the work of the Council on behalf of the parish, its residents and businesses.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience dealing with administrative, financial, employment and legal aspects with good interpersonal, organisational and computer literacy skills. Candidates should live within reasonable travelling distance and knowledge of the Ribble Valley would be an advantage.

Particular duties include meeting agenda and minutes, financial accounts, budgetary control and audit, correspondence, newsletters, insurance, custody of documents and records, advising and assisting with policies and procedures, liaison with other local authorities, parish notice board and annual parish meeting.

Ideally, the applicant should hold a Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) or be prepared to undergo training to achieve this.

This is a part-time post with flexibility on the working hours and the successful applicant will work from home and in meeting locations. The salary will be in accordance with the appropriate National Joint Council Scales 8 - 11
