Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Eccleshill Parish is looking for an experienced Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer with good interpersonal, IT, financial and written skills and ideally holds the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification (CiLCA). Eccleshill Parish is a growing evolving Parish and is not a party- political Council. Its aim is to act in the interest of the Parish and its residents.

The successful candidate’s duties will include:

o responsibility for all the financial records of the Parish Council and the careful administration of these finances.

o keeping records of all correspondence and general administration, including custody of all legal documents, deeds and insurance policies.

o preparing accounts for auditing, including the preparation of annual estimates

o advising the Parish Council on and assist in the formation of overall polices to be followed in respect of the Authority’s activities

o preparing and circulate agendas, reports and minutes

o ensuring that the Council’s obligations regarding insurance are observed

o keeping the notice boards in the Parish up to date with current information

o inviting all Parishioners to next meeting.

 

The post is 10 hours per month, mainly working from home, with the exception of attending Parish meetings. Council meetings are held monthly (except for August and December) on the second Monday of each month, commencing at 7.30pm at Hoddlesden Community Centre.

 

The salary will be in accordance with the National Joint Council (NJC) SCP Spine Sale 8 – 10 - £10.65 an hour.
