LALC and the Devolution of Greater Lancashire
31st of March, 2025
LALC & the Devolution of Greater Lancashire
LALC will have a consultative and representative role and can advice the County Council and District Councils on how best to assist and liaise with the Local Council sector.
The LALC Board will work closely with other sector partners to identify who we need to engage with on your behalf to effectively influence decisions impacting the sector.
For members: A page has been added to the main website for the documents explaining the government’s position on this matter. As communications are received, these will be added, such as the response from Greater Lancashire last week to Government and the minister’s response to that.
Area Committee's will play a role in keeping LALC Exec up to date with the position being taken in their unitary authority, district or city so the Executive are aware if any actions are needed to be taken.
The Chief Officer will liaise with the Combined Authority to make sure LALC is kept up to date with their actions.
As LALC we need to make sure that the voice of the grassroots communities is part of the wider debate as it will impact us the most.
Cllr Pat Hastings, Chair
