Alan is now an Honourary Townsman

Councillor Alan Neal received official recognition following 37 years services service to the community of Whitworth, on Friday 22nd November 2024.

The Mayor and Members of Whitworth Town Council presented Councillor Alan Neal with the award of Honourary Townsman at an awards event.

Since 1980 there have only been nine other individuals who have received this outstanding award. Councillor Neal is now the tenth person to have now received this prestigious award.

Councillor Neal, Alan said during his acceptance speech; "this is both a great honour and also very humbling. It’s thanks to my family and the people of Whitworth, who deserved the recognition, without whom none of this would be possible. Finally just to say this award will not detract from me continuing to work and support my community here in Whitworth."
